In another area of my life, I signed myself up for the summer reading program at the library. I don't know what the prize is, but I've already read 6 books since June 1st and I'm starting on # 7! I'm good to go! No wonder I never get any sleep! HA! I get hooked on a book and I can't get my nose out of it! At least I will have something to do in the next few days as I rest my poor knee! I'm pretty sure I'll be fine by Saturday. I'm going to do weight training again on Wednesday (or maybe Thursday, I don't need to weigh MORE for Weight Watchers - I always seem to way more the day after weight training - what's up with that?)
Well, I'm off - I got some beautiful strawberries today and I'm going to make a weight watcher's dessert with them! YUM! I have the points saved up and everything!!
Oh - and I thought I'd leave you with two pictures. 1.My yummy dinner tonight - (it should have been brown rice, but my hubby had already made a vat of white rice this morning, so I just used that) Terriyaki chicken, rice, and cabbage/broccoli/carrots stir fried in the wok with rice wine and sesame oil. 2. My daughter THOROUGHLY enjoying said dinner.!! (Oh, and in case you were wondering, I am a TOTAL carnivore. I could NEVER go vegetarian - I would wither up and die!)
What a Cutie! And YUMMY dinner! I could never be a vegetarian either. I believe moderation in all things (except sugar. Hey, how did you think I got this way?!!!) ;-)
ReplyDeleteHope your knee feels better. I have a bum right knee but it is impacted with running (and biking as I found out tonight). I'm hoping as I lose more weight it will feel better.
Okay, Monica, I need you to share what books you've read. I am a HUGE reader! I probably read 2 or 3 a week. Depending on what genres you like there's a great series written by a local author and based in Portland.
Thanks Krista!! LOL about the sugar! When I was pregnant both times, I had gestational diabetes - because I was SO careful for my babies - I sort of weened myself off of sugar! I used to be a major sugar junkie! Now I don't even sweeten my iced tea! It's crazy!
ReplyDeleteI think my knee is already feeling much better. I'm going to try a short 2 or 3 mile run today and see how it goes. If it starts to hurt at all I will stop. I think it's fine. I almost feel like the elliptical got my knee's tracking off and running might pop it back into place!
Books - I'm pretty open about genre. I think I tend to gravitate toward mystery and thriller books. Right now I'm reading a book by Ted Dekker called "The Priest's Graveyard" it's pretty good so far. I've read several by Ted Dekker - some are awesome and some kind of suck. I am also a big James Patterson fan - I've read quite a few of his. Lately I've been just reading the free books for Nook on Barnes and Noble's website. Some have been pretty good and some have been real stinkers! I just finished reading the 50 Shades of Grey trillogy - at first I didn't like it, but I really started liking the characters and found myself rooting for them! Who is the local author?? Did you see that Susan Slaughter is coming to the Library? I don't know what she writes, but I may look into her after I finish this book!
Correction - the author coming to the library is KARIN Slaughter - got the first name wrong!
